Bertin describes the deafening environment of his first Walsh dual meet, recalling the narrow loss his freshman year, the pressure of wrestling behind star teammates, and the internal battles he faced early in his career while trying to find confidence inside one of the toughest rooms in the country.
As the program matured, St. Edward began to take control. Bertin talks about the shift in momentum between the two programs, the team’s revenge win over Blair Academy after a tough loss, and the 1998 squad that captured a national team title and reestablished St. Edward as the top program in the country.
